Alfanar fosters the growth of ambitious, driven and self-reliant social enterprises (SE) that provide valued and sustainable opportunities for disadvantaged people in the Arab world to improve their lives with dignity. Under the “Impact Together” project, financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented by Impact Europe, Alfanar is launching a Seed cycle as part of the project that intends to support social enterprises (SEs) and promote employment creation in Lebanon.
The Seed programme intends to support 9 early and growth stage social enterprises over 2 rounds – up to 5 SEs per round – over a 4-year period with funding and tailored training and management support.
An initial cohort of 10 SEs will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria – described below – and will be selected by a panel to join a cohort of up to 5 SEs that will be supported for a period of 6 months with a USD 11K award, 3 group trainings and 4 bespoke one-on-one trainings. High potential SEs will then progress to a 2 month long-term business planning phase that could lead to further funding.
