Equipping educators to prepare for Yom Ha’Zikaron and Yom
Ha’atzmaut Post-October 7th.
The Yamim Project aims to catalyze a transformative shift by
inspiring educators to co-create and pilot a new, current, and responsive
approach to Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut in their own communities.
The significance of commemorating Yom Hazikaron and
celebrating Yom Ha’atzmaut has taken on a new depth in our post-October 7th
world, particularly in an environment of record levels of antisemitism and
anti-Zionism. The choices we make now – the stories we tell, the rituals we
establish and the calls to action we make – will shape our individual
identities, collective sense of Jewish peoplehood and relationship with the
State of Israel – for years to come.
