Each year, Oakland Promise supports hundreds of Oakland students on their post-secondary journeys, and volunteer mentors are a big part of how we do it. Our team matches professionals like you with scholars to help guide them through their first two years of college.

To get started, simply fill out the short interest form below. This isn't a full application — once you submit, our team will follow up with everything you need to complete the process. If you'd like to be matched with a scholar for Summer 2026, just make sure your application is in by June 15th, 2026.

Applying after the deadline? No worries, you'll be added to the pool for next year's cohort, and you'll still stay connected in the meantime through monthly newsletters, volunteer opportunities, and community events like panels, scholar workshops, and networking mixers.
