PAVE's PTI Live Virtual Trainings- 2024 

PAVE’s Parent Training and Information (PTI) offers support to family caregivers, youth, and professionals seeking information on services for children and young adults with disabilities, aged 0-26. PTI extends its support through individual assistance, group training, and resource provision. 


PAVE PTI trainings are designed to provide parents, caregivers, youth, and professionals with knowledge and skills related to supporting individuals with disabilities. These trainings cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:


  • Understanding the rights of students and their families within the special education system.
  • Navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and Section 504 plans.
  • Strategies for effective communication and collaboration with school staff and other service providers.
  • Advocacy techniques to ensure that children receive appropriate services and accommodations.
  • Information on specific disabilities and how they may impact learning and development.
  • Guidance on transition planning for youth moving from secondary education to adulthood.
  • Resources and tools for emotional support and self-care for caregivers.
