Wildscreen Festival 2024 Bursary Application Form 

Thank you for taking the time to apply for a Wildscreen Festival Bursary. Bursaries of varying support for individuals based both in the UK and internationally are available for Wildscreen Festival 2024. Please read the eligibility criteria on the next page of this form carefully ahead of applying to ensure that you are eligible to do so. The terms and conditions are outlined below. Applications close at 12pm BST on Monday 22nd July 2024. Successful applicants will be notified in late-August/September 2024. In-Person Bursaries

Both fully funded and part-funded in-person bursaries are available for Wildscreen Festival 2024. The level of bursary support provided to each individual will be decided at Wildscreen's discretion. Fully funded, in-person bursaries include;

  • An in person ticket to Wildscreen Festival 2024 (worth £510!) 
  • Travel to and from Wildscreen Festival
  • Accomodation for the entirety of festival week (Sunday 13th October - Thursday 17th October inclusive)
  • Per diem allowance
  • 1 year Wildscreen Network Membership
  • Tickets to the Panda Awards After Party

Online (remote) Access Bursaries

Online (remote) access bursaries include;

  • An online ticket to Wildscreen Festival 2024
  • Access to the Wildscreen Festival 2024 online Film Library
  • Online networking opportunities
  • 1 year Wildscreen Network Membership
The Serious Stuff

In-Person Bursaries

The successful recipients will receive all or some of the following dependent on the type of bursary they are awarded at Wildscreen's discretion (i) a full hybrid pass for the 2024 Wildscreen Festival and ticket to the Panda Awards After Party (ii) Hotel/B&B accommodation in Bristol at an establishment of Wildscreen’s choosing for the duration of the Festival (maximum 6 nights) (iii) one return economy

flight (including taxes) from their regional airport (or alternative as agreed with Wildscreen) to London or Bristol (where possible, other modes of transport will be prioritised if available/accessible) (iv) UK transfers to and from London or Bristol (v) a daily per diem for food expenses.(vi) 1 year Full Membership to the Wildscreen Network


Online (remote) Bursaries

The successful recipients will receive (i) a full online only pass for the 2024 Wildscreen Festival (ii) 1 year Full Membership to the Wildscreen Network

 To be eligible to apply for either the in-person or remote bursaries you must;

  1. Have had at least 12 months of experience within the wildlife filmmaking industry (paid or unpaid) 

  2. Have no criminal record and have not previously been convicted of a criminal offense.

  3. Possess a good level of understanding of the English language as all Festival content is delivered in English.

  4. Be able to attend the Wildscreen Festival from 14 -18 October 2024 inclusive. Please do not apply if you are not able to attend any of these dates.

  5. Hold a current passport and/or visa for travel and entry to the UK valid for the duration of the Festival if you are based outside of the UK. Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas.

  6. Be able to prove that the work presented is your own.

  7. Not have attended the Wildscreen Festival (Bristol) previously as a delegate or received an in-person Wildscreen Bursary for WSF Bristol previously.

  8. Be aged 18 or over
Applicants do not need a university degree or to have held a paid role previously within the industry in order to apply for this bursary but a passion to pursue a career in natural world storytelling is essential!
