Pre-Application Info

The St. Augustine, Florida Christmas International House (CIH) program will offer the opportunity for 8 international students to spend 2 weeks with them, including Christmas from Tuesday, December 19, 2024 to Tuesday, January 2, 2025. 

This is a home stay program where students still stay with 2 host families (one each week) and spend Christmas with them.  They will have group activities during the day touring St. Augustine, except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which will be spent with the host family.

Please note that there is a $25 application fee to apply for the program.  The registration fee is $199 to participate in the program.  After you are accepted, the $25 application fee will be applied to your registration fee, which you will then pay to hold your place in the program.    Please be prepared to provide your own transportation to and from St. Augustine. FL. The program fee will be requested after you are accepted into the program and will confirm your participation.  If you plan to fly to St. Augustine, please check the prices of airfare tickets on those dates and consider whether you can afford the cost of travel.

During this program, you will be hosted by Memorial Presbyterian Church (www.memorialpcusa.org).  Most of your activity fees and meals will be paid for by the host site.  But, there may be other admission fees, meals and snacks while traveling that will not be covered.

To apply, please complete this application.  After your application is received, it will be reviewed by the program directors, and you will be notified by email if you are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected.  Please be patient as it may take several weeks to hear back from us.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR APPLICATION you will need your student ID/class schedule, proof of COVID vaccination, and insurance card scanned prior to beginning the application.   In addition, you will need your international student advisor's name, phone number, and email address. There will be an opportunity for you to save the application however, please remember your password so that you can finish the application.  It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the application process.

Terms and Conditions for Acceptance
I understand that I am expected to arrive as close as possible to the beginning date of the program and to remain as close as possible to the ending date.   Early arrivals and late departures are up to the discretion of the host and must be arranged before arrival.   Students are expected to participate in the planned activities of the program.   Students participating in a home stay program are expected to join in the daily activities of their host families/individuals.    Failure to abide by policies and requests of the host or unacceptable behavior can result in my being asked to leave the program at my expense.     If I am unable to attend, I must inform my host CIH program.   I release CIH and Atlanta Ministry with International Students, its employees, hosts, churches, volunteers, and agents from any liabilities for loss, injury, or damage to my person (family members) or property which may result from my/our participation.

I understand that there is no liability for an injury or death of an individual participating in this program if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19. You are assuming this risk by participating in this program.

By submitting this application to CIH, a program of the Atlanta Ministry with International Students, Inc. ("AMIS"), I hereby irrevocably and perpetually grant AMIS and my local CIH program to take and use photographs, video and audio recordings, or digital images of me taken in connection with my participation in the CIH program or its activities.

I confirm that all information provided in this application is accurate and true. I agree to update AMIS immediately if there is any change to any of the information provided here. I give AMIS permission to verify the information in this application with my listed student adviser.
