AMSI Summer School 2025 - Application Form

AMSI is pleased to partner with the University of Sydney (USyd) to host AMSI Summer School 2025 from 6-31 January at their Camperdown Campus, Sydney and online.

Applications for AMSI Summer School include submission of this form AND payment via the USyd online payment gateway (which you will be redirected to when you submit this form).

Applicants can choose to study one or two subjects - view subject guides
With permission from their home university, students can gain credit for one subject
(It is your responsibility to discuss with your honours/masters/program coordinator to confirm your eligibility and the process you need to follow at your home university in addition to the AMSI Summer School application form in order to receive a credit. (e.g. enrolling in a shell subject. AMSI subjects are not a cross-institutional enrolment))

Please provide the contact details of your honours/masters/program coordinator or Head of School. AMSI Summer School organisers may make contact with them to process your application.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your first preference/s, however, acceptance is not guaranteed due to subject maximum capacities. We recommend nominating an additional preference.

AMSI Travel Grants are available for students enrolled at AMSI Member Universities to receive accommodation in Sydney at St Andrew's College for the duration of the School and/or assist with the cost of travel from their home city to Sydney. Grants do not cover Summer School application fees. Travel Grant recipients must participate in-person for the dates they have been awarded funding.

Female, First Nations, and rural, regional and remote students are strongly encouraged to apply.

NOTE: If you are applying for an AMSI student travel grant including accommodation DO NOT book and pay for accommodation with St Andrew's College. Successful accommodation grant applicants will have accommodation at St Andrew's College booked and paid for as part of the grant.

Successful applicants will receive up to 26 nights accommodation at St Andrew's College, an on-campus student college only a short walk from the Summer School lecture rooms. Students will have their own furnished room with shared bathrooms. Linen and internet are included.

This accommodation will be booked and paid for directly by AMSI/USyd.

NOTE: You are strongly encouraged to participate in-person at USyd for all four weeks to maximise your Summer School experience. However, should you require a combination of in-person and virtual formats, please provide details below. Grant recipients are required to participate in-person for a minimum of two consecutive weeks

You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to and from Sydney

You are strongly encouraged to attend in-person at the University of Sydney to maximise your Summer School experience, however virtual participation is also available.

Note: While AMSI and USyd will endeavour to provide the best experience possible for virtual participants, not all of the elements of the program will be available remotely, and some functions may be limited.
