Join us for October's Education in Emergencies Community call - 'The Role of Education in Disaster Prevention’ - to mark 2024's International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. Children are the most vulnerable population during and after any disaster - but children are more than victims of disasters. Children have an important leadership role to play in reducing risk, by collaborating with governments, schools and communities, and sharing their critical skills, individual experiences and ideas for solutions.
During this call we'll be:
- learning from an external DRR/EiE expert;
- sharing insights on the critical role that schools play in disaster prevention;
- discussing the role of teachers/schools in building the preparedness of children;
- exchanging ideas on how to empower students to understand and act on the risks they face
This call will take on October 15th and will have 2 call options
