DESCRIPTION:
The National Committee is pleased to invite you to an informal, off-the-record discussion with Chow Chung-yan, executive editor of the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
Mr. Chow began his journalism career at the SCMP as an intern and part time reporter in 1998, and steadily rose through the ranks (including stints at the city, China, and business desks) to the number two position where he is responsible for the China and U.S. bureaus as well as the political economy, culture, print, and digital teams. Mr. Chow has been running the SCMP’s day-to-day operations since 2011, leading the newsroom’s organizational restructuring, streamlining its production workflows, and setting up dedicated teams for both the print and digital products to facilitate the newspaper’s digital transformation.
We have worked with Chow Chung-yan for about 15 years and are delighted that he can join us for what we expect will be a frank and thoughtful discussion. We look forward to having you join us.
Please register no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, October 18.
