Share the love this holiday season with the
Great Chum Cookie Bake-off!
First Covenant Church
(2101 West Second Street)
invites you to their kitchen at 9 AM on December 14th
to make holiday cookies to share at the
Warming Center, St. Francis Apartments, or the Homeless Memorial Vigil
during the holiday season!
For most of us, December is a time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends around a table laden with good food. For folks staying at the Warming Center, it is a time of trying to find food and a warm place to spend the day. St. Francis Apartments offers housing to people who are over 55 and have a history of chronic homelessness, and many of them have no family or friends nearby. Our efforts bring reminders of home and love..
This shift begins at 9 AM, and will meet in the dining hall of First Covenant to roll and cut or shape cookie dough and place on trays for baking. This is a great activity for anyone who knows what to do with play-doh, but they need their grown-ups along to maintain clean hands and germ control. This shift is a great fit for multi-generational friends/families, or just the young at heart. Who doesn't like playing with dough!
