Share the love this holiday season with the
Great Chum Cookie Bake-off!
First Covenant Church
(2101 West Second Street)
invites you to their kitchen at 8 AM on December 14th
to make holiday cookies to share at the
Warming Center, St. Francis Apartments, or the Homeless Memorial Vigil
during the holiday season!
For most of us, December is a time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends around a table laden with good food. For folks staying at the Warming Center, it is a time of trying to find food and a warm place to spend the day. St. Francis Apartments offers housing to people who are over 55 and have a history of chronic homelessness, and many of them have no family or friends nearby.
Our efforts bring reminders of home and love.
This shift begins at 8 AM, and will meet in the kitchen of First Covenant to mix up cookie dough. Space and equipment is limited, and we are looking for pairs or trios to work together to mix up each recipe of dough. Volunteers signing up for this shift should have basic kitchen experience, including reading a recipe, measuring ingredients, operating a mixer, and handling hot pans.
