AAC Across Transitions

Join Bekah Nesbitt from TechOWL to gain tips and tricks for keeping up with augmentative and alternative communication during job exploration, funding changes, and overall graduation-based transitions.

This session will enable participants to:
- Identify primary funding changes between school-based devices and post-graduate assistive technology
- Implement best practice methods across AAC integration within daily life and modeling of device use
- Understand the basics of AAC: types of devices, pros/cons of mainstream AAC, discussion of switches
- Learn about the most pertinent AAC "to do list" items before graduation or employment
- Recognize the importance of AAC for vocations
