Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for reading the information below and completing this form so we can keep your child safe.

Cazadero will not release any staff member who is a minor to travel off-site without specific parental permissions as laid out on this form.

All staff under the age of 18 must receive permission from the Camp Director or their agent (Assistant Camp Director, Director of Food Services, Deans, or the Camp Administrative Assistant) and sign out on the appropriate board at the Camp Office before leaving the camp property for any reason. This includes but is not limited to walking into the town of Cazadero, going into Guerneville, or traveling home. The Camp Director or their agent are responsible for staff who are minors and have the right to use their best judgement to deny a travel request even if there are no parent/guardian restrictions.

Note: Staff under the age of 18 are also required to adhere to the prescribed curfew times set by the Camp Director and Sonoma County which means returning to camp no later than 11 PM, unless stated earlier by the Camp Director or their agent.

Off-Weekends
We would like to use the opportunity to remind you that there is no adult staff on site to chaperone under-age staff on off-weekends between sessions. Off-weekend is defined as the days off between the youth camp sessions. Off-weekend begins after all work responsibilities on the Final Concert Day of the session have been completed and the staff member has been released by their direct supervisor. Off-weekend concludes when the 8:30am All Camp Staff meeting begins on the first day of the following youth camp session. All staff under the age of 18 must leave the campsite during these weekends. Camp Staff and Volunteers may return to camp the Monday evening of the off-weekend after 6pm (ALL minors who choose to return on Monday evening must check back in at the camp office or with a Dean between 6pm-9pm Monday evening. Curfew is 10pm each Monday before a session begins).
We understand that traveling long distances between session breaks can be taxing for families so carpooling and making arrangements with friends closer to camp are encouraged. These arrangements are often easier to find once we have met each other at orientation. Supervising staff can help facilitate conversations at camp if needed.
