Thank you for applying to Trinity Christian School.  We are excited to walk through this journey with you.  


TCS is a unique school that seeks to partner with the Christian home and church to lead children to be the best they can be for God’s glory.  A Christian faith component is required of all applying families.


PART 1: General Information

The first part of this application will be gathering the following vital statistics regarding parent/s and child/ren.  To best prepare for this portion, please have ready the following STUDENT documents:

  • Birth certificate (Canada ONLY)

  • OR Permanent Resident card (front and back)

  • OR Canadian Citizenship paper (NOT a passport)

  • OR Study/Work Permit or Refugee documents

  • Report cards: Current year AND year end for previous 2 years (if applying for Grade 1-9)

  • Any assessment reports the child/ren may have had done (if applicable)  


This should take 20-30 minutes to complete.  You will be able to save and return to the document if necessary. If you submit the application with any of the above documents not attached (all that apply), your application will be incomplete and will not be considered.


PART 2:  Faith Documentation

After “Part 1” of this application is completed and submitted, you will be sent the second part of the application.  This will include:

  • Review and agreement to the TCS Statements of Faith

  • A personal Statement of Faith from at least one Christian parent (although both active parents will be required to complete a faith document)

  • A Pastoral Reference form to be completed by pastoral staff from your current church (This reference form will be sent by TCS to the pastor you indicate in this application form)


PART 3: Society Interview

Once “Part 2” is completed and submitted and your pastoral reference is received, you will be contacted to schedule your Society Interview.  This is an in-person meeting at TCS unless you are residing away from the city at the time of application.

FRANCOPHONE ELIGIBILITY

Francophone Eligibility  The exercise of Francophone eligibility rights refers to instruction in a Francophone school, NOT a French Immersion school.  According to the School Act and Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, a student is eligible for instruction in a Francophone school if at least one parent is a Canadian citizen and one of the following three conditions exists:  Either parent's first language learned and still understood is French, or Either parent has received their primary school instruction in Canada, in French, or One or more of the parent's children has received or is receiving primary or secondary instruction in French in Canada.

In Alberta, parents can only exercise this right by enrolling their child in a French first language (Francophone) program, offered by a Francophone Regional authority.  Contact the school office for a listing of Francophone authorities.

Due to current funding levels as provided by Alberta Education, there may be limited resources to accommodate additional needs. Each case will be evaluated based on the specific needs of the student.  Although TCS welcomes students of all learning abilities, there is always a possibility that we may not be able to accommodate your student due to the level of support that is already being utilized in your grade of interest.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION INFORMATION












Pursuant to section 11.1(2) of the Alberta Human Rights Act, we are required to inform you that students attending this alternative school within Palliser Regional Schools will receive religious (Bible-based, Christian education)  instruction, exercises and instructional materials. Religion (Bible based and Christian world view teaching) permeates the school program. The Palliser Board of Trustees supports faith-based alternative programs within Palliser Regional Schools. Should you have questions, please discuss them with your school Principal.
