Thank you for applying for the $100,000 Bullitt Prize. Washington Conservation Action Education Fund seeks to broaden, strengthen, and diversify the current and future leadership of the environmental movement by investing in emerging leaders advancing conservation and environmental justice efforts in the Pacific Northwest.

The Prize is awarded annually to an individual from Washington state or the Pacific Northwest region if their work impacts Washington, are 35 years or younger and have demonstrated academic, professional, or grassroots leadership that advances conservation and environmental justice.

The Prize consists of $100,000 split over two years ($50,000 in year one, and the remaining $50,000 in the second year).













Applicant Background

Answering these questions helps the selection committee gain a better understanding of your background, communities that may be centered in the work, and measure progress toward the goal of supporting emerging conservation and environmental justice leaders.

Answers will not be taken into consideration either for or against an applicant. Answers are kept confidential and will not be shared without express permission.

References

The Bullitt Prize selection committee asks for two references to help them assess the strength and experience of the applicant. References should be able to speak to the impact and potential of the applicant's work. References should be available for a 15-30 minute phone call scheduled sometime after July 1, 2025.
