What was the nature of the project achievement (200 words max)? {An award to a project which has achieved an exceptional outcome, notable for its eminence, effectiveness, efficiency, ethics, equity and environmental impacts. Examples of projects could be construction, information systems, business change or research projects.}

What problems were encountered, and how were they overcome? What things went wrong, and how were these issues addressed? How was eminence demonstrated? How was the effectiveness and efficiency of the solution demonstrated?}

5. People (150 words max) {Who was involved in the exercise other than the individual/team? How many people (experts, stakeholders, neutral parties, etc)? Was the approach owned at the Executive level?}

6. Business benefits (200 words max) {What were the benefits and improvements which were ultimately delivered? We recognise that benefits may not be primarily financial but could involve technological advancements, improved data quality, better customer service or improved quality/safety. Please try and quantify the benefits.}

7. Validation (200 words max) {Was it possible to have the benefits/improvements validated? How was this done? Did anybody scrutinise the results? Were they borne out in practice? Was the approach subject to independent audit and continuous improvement and if yes how was this done?}

Application Guidance Notes

Nomination Eligibility

At least one project team member must be a paid up member of SAAMA.
The nominee(s) does not have to be an “Asset Manager” or within the “Asset Management Team” per se, but needs to demonstrate achievements in the field of asset management. For example, the nominee(s) could be an Engineering student or working in a Finance role.
It is recommended that a sponsor supports all nominations. The Sponsor is asked to encourage and invite individuals to put themselves forward for recognition.
The Sponsor/Nominator should typically be a more senior colleague or mentor and have a good level of understanding of the nominees’s achievements and capability but is not asked to verify specific details of applications.
The Sponsor/Nominator does not have to be a member of SAAMA but should have sufficient asset management knowledge to complete the nomination form.
