About your work

The impacts of climate change are not felt equally between rich and poor, or among older, younger and future generations. A ‘climate justice’ approach demands that actions taken to mitigate or adapt to climate change are centred on the most affected people and places. It takes an intersectional approach, recognising that climate risks can further depress social and economic outcomes for marginalised groups, including people on low incomes, women and girls, people of colour, and indigenous peoples. Often, youth climate justice action seeks systemic change, championing redistributive solutions that challenge dominant paradigms of power and economic growth

By group agreement we mean a document setting out an agreement that you have agreed to work together as an organisation, which might include describing your distinct roles or what your responsibilities in the organisation are. By constitution we mean a formal legally binding agreement, likely including your charitable purposes, rules, governance, and membership agreement

We are asking for this as we recognise that the climate movement as a whole has historically been one of the least diverse in the charity sector. We believe that to achieve climate justice, we need to increase representation of a wider diversity of people leading the climate justice movement
As part of a future phase of this fund we are looking to fund the organisations that provide support to grassroots climate justice organisations. We would like to understand who is supporting you in your changemaking journey, so please feel free to nominate up to 2 charities or umbrella bodies who are providing you with this support. Here are some of the criteria for these organisations:

- Based in England.
- Provides infrastructure support (such as networking, training, community engagement, research, and fundraising help) to youth-led organisations.

By provide you with support we mean an organisation that might (but not exclusively) provides your organisation with networking opportunities, fundraising advice, help with safeguarding, legal or HR, or support with training opportunities. We are trying to be non-prescriptive with this so if you are unsure please contact daniel@blagravetrust.org
