Thank you for your interest in the 2025-2026 Impact Year Fellowship!

What does it mean to be part of the Impact Year Fellowship?
You will be part of a Bay Area-wide cohort of leaders that will not only have the opportunity to plan meaningful service events, but to also delve into what it means to be Jewish in our community today  while gaining valuable leadership skills. 
Before you begin this application, please note:  
  • You will able to save your progress. 
  • Check the calendar below to make sure you are available to attend ALL the events, including the overnight retreat October 4-5, 2025. 
  • Deadline to Register for Impact Year Fellowship is September 15.
  • Impact Year Fellowship Fee: $600.  Early Bird Discount: $550 if you register by Tuesday, September 2. It is important to JFCS that cost is not a barrier to participate in our programs; please email Debra Massey at dmassey@jfcs.org for the Financial Aid application. 
  • There will be a $50 late fee if your payment is received after September 22.
  • Your Parent will need to complete a section of this application as well. 
Please note: Our programs are highly subsidized by the generosity of our donors. Impact Year Fellowship fees include all program participation in mifgashim, summits and the retreat (including bus transportation to and from the retreat). All Impact Year Leaders are expected to participate in the overnight retreat. Any retreat cancellations after September 19 will incur an additional $150 fee.

Important Notes:
  • Impact Year Fellowship Fee: $600. Please be aware that there is a $600 program fee, which will be requested upon each teen's acceptance into the Impact Year Leadership program. The Early Bird price is $550 if you register by September 2.

Impact Year Calendar Commitment
What makes Impact Year so great is the community that we create together. Your Impact Year community counts on you being at programs consistently, and on time. 

Impact Year Fellows are a committed group of teens who work closely with the YouthFirst staff to plan and execute service and advocacy projects for fellow teens in the Impact Year program.

All teens will participate in:

1. Monthly Mifgash (Hebrew for "meeting" or "gathering") which may include:
  • Service Learning Events
  • Jewish Identity Workshops 
  • Community Building 
2. Impact Year Siyum (concluding celebration)

3. Other agreed upon days and times to work on particular events
