Expectations and Attestation

By submitting this application, you confirm that all information provided is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. You understand that the selection process is competitive and meeting the criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program. You acknowledge the following founder expectations and if accepted into the program agree to follow them.

Expectations of Founders

Founders who accept the accelerator Offer Letter should understand and acknowledge that their participation in the accelerator is contingent upon the following terms:

  1. Founders must complete the pre-accelerator checklist (including a pre-accelerator office hour) and make the Launch Chapel Hill team aware of any program conflicts / planned absences during the program.
  2. Founders are expected to attend all 10 days of programming, plus Demo Day. If a founder misses more than 2 days of programming, the Launch Chapel Hill and/or KPMG team reserves the right to remove them from the Demo Day lineup.
  3. In the case of planned absences, founders should make every effort to send a team member in their place (if available – we understand many teams at this stage are co-founder driven).
  4. Founders are expected to participate in a minimum of 2 Demo Day “pitch scrubs” or “pitch practices” with the accelerator staff/team to ensure adequate preparation for Demo Day.
  5. Founders are expected to check-in with the accelerator staff during office hours if provided or to schedule alternative times to share founder updates and any challenges or support asks that the accelerator team could help with.
  6. Founders understand that the Launch Chapel Hill powered by KPMG accelerator does NOT guarantee client intros, pilots, or contracts during the six-week program window. Efforts will be made to provide each founder/startup with the mentors and intros requested, but that there are no “next-step” guarantees from either Launch Chapel Hill, UNC, or KPMG.
  7. Founders understand that Launch Chapel Hill, UNC, and KPMG make intros/connections in good faith, and expect the founders to treat these connections as opportunities to build long-term relationships, versus drive immediate transactional outcomes as the latter often leads to “burned bridges” and does not reflect well on the founder, the accelerator, or the program staff and sponsors.
