VCIP OVERVIEW

VCIP NEED
Each year over 200,000 service members exit the military to join the civilian workforce. While they are all assigned military occupations, 86% want a career change, with 80% uncertain about their next career. The challenge is to resolve reintegration issues before exiting the military.


VCIP MISSION
By focusing on and resolving the five* key reintegration issues of veterans and the challenges employers face trying to hire them, the VCIP will orchestrate a predictable talent pipeline from military service to employment in priority sectors through a coordinated transition training effort with multiple agencies.

**A memorandum of understanding (MOU) is drafted by the employer outlining the requirements to enroll in the program. Agreeing to the MOU ensures that the service member is interested in employment with the company and is willing to follow the steps towards a career with the company.

VCIP PROCESS


TRANSITION PHASE
Service members are recruited through our Managing Your Transition Timeline app, assisted with choosing a company of choice, and agree to enroll in the VCIP/Skillbridge.

RESILIENCY PHASE
Candidates attend REBOOT Workshop™ sponsored by employers to help them with adjusting to civilian culture.


SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PHASE
Depending on the desired position within the company, candidates agree to attend relevant technical skills training and are enrolled in OPERATION Skillbridge.

WORKFORCE READINESS PHASE
Prior to separation candidates fly out to spend up to a week on the employer’s campus to learn history/culture.

WORKFORCE INTEGRATION PHASE
Candidates begin their DoD SKILLBRIDGE employment in the work area of choice with mentoring from the company’s veteran affinity group and ongoing support from veteran service organizations (VSO) via the REBOOT app.

  • Invited speaker at Industry Networking Events.
  • Notifications for recruiting events (NAVNET, Capstone, Career Fairs).
  • Access transitioning active-duty military up to 2 years before separation via Veteran Talent Pipeline.
  • Company vacancies added to Job-Set AI veteran matching system for streamlined searches.
RETENTION PLAN – $10,000
  • Recruit 4 DoD Skillbridge Service members.*
  • Includes benefits of Basic and Recruiter plans.
  • Retention level offers training, including free online courses and certification through COURSERA for veterans.
  • Company profile featured in the Veteran-Friendly Employer section of the MYTT365 app for 12 months.
  • Access Job-Set employer dashboard to add jobs and view veteran matches; invite up to three veterans per quarter to apply.
  • On-site retention training for all veteran employees.
  • Veteran employees added to Coordinated Access Network (CAN) Portal for peer support and benefits advice.
CORPORATE PLAN – $25,000
  • Help build and maintain a Veteran Integration Program.
  • Includes all Basic, Recruiter, and Retention benefits.
  • Focused client search (local and national).
  • Corporate training on the Five Key Reintegration Issues.
  • Company news added to your Veteran-Friendly Employer profile on the MYTT365 app (announcements, fellowships, webinars; excludes job notices).
  • Access Job-Set employer dashboard to add jobs and view local and national veteran matches; invite up to 10 veterans per quarter to apply.
  • On-site retention training for all veteran employees.
  • Support for hosting one veteran event at your corporate location.
* Self-funding in two months or less. The DOD Skillbridge program offers Service members valuable civilian work experience through targeted industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during their final 180 days of service.
