Ongoing Volunteer Request Form

Thank you for requesting community volunteer support for your classroom! This form is to request ongoing (weekly+) in-class volunteer support. SF Ed Fund volunteers are required to volunteer for at least 1 hour/week.

Instructions: 
  • Only employees of SFUSD can request a volunteer, meaning you must have an SFUSD email address to request a volunteer. 
  • Please describe your volunteer needs thoroughly. The more details you can provide, the more likely a volunteer will be to select your request. 
  • The person filling out this form must be the person who will be hosting the volunteer.
  • Volunteers can be tutors, classroom assistants, or lead mindfulness sessions. 
    • If you're requesting a Mindfulness volunteer AND a tutor, please submit 2 separate requests. 
  • The complete list of teacher requests will be shared with all of our cleared volunteers.
  • We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but this may not be possible in every situation. Each volunteer selects the school where they’d like to volunteer and what they would like to do based on their own personal set of criteria. 
  • If you’ve already been in contact with your former volunteer and they intend to return to your classroom, please don’t submit a new request.

After you submit a request: If a volunteer expresses interest in working in your classroom, an SF Ed Fund staff member will email you to confirm you are still looking for a volunteer. If you are, the SF Ed Fund will introduce you and the potential volunteer via email. If you don't respond to the SF Ed Fund's email within one (1) business week, we will move on to another teacher’s request. 

A quick response is critical to ensuring you don't miss out on a potential volunteer.

Enter the times you are requesting volunteer support (for example, 8-10am, 2-4pm). Leave blank for days you do not need a volunteer. Note that volunteers are asked to volunteer 1 hour/week.











Volunteers will be most effective when they have clear expectations and goals. Please consider the time that it will take to train your volunteer to be most useful to you before submitting this request.
