Precision Measuring Course – Interest Form

This interest form is for IAM District 751 and W24 members who would like to enroll in the Precision Measuring Tools Course offered by the Machinists Institute.

Course Description

The Precision Measuring Tools Course introduces students to the proper use and care of essential measuring instruments used in manufacturing and assembly environments. This course is designed for members with limited experience who want to develop accurate measurement skills and strengthen their understanding of dimensional inspection tools.

Skills Covered:

  • How to properly read and use micrometers and calipers
  • Using dial indicators and height gauges
  • Understanding measurement tolerances and increments
  • Best practices for tool handling and calibration basics
  • Recording and interpreting measurements accurately

Note: This course is recommended for members pursuing roles in machining, inspection, quality control, and mechanical assembly.

Courses are offered in morning, evening, and Saturday formats to accommodate various work shifts. Final class times will be confirmed based on interest and availability.
