Manual Mill Challenge Course – Interest Form

This interest form is for IAM District 751 and W24 members who would like to challenge the Basic Mill Course offered by the Machinists Institute


Please note: Submitting this form does not guarantee participation. Space is limited, and eligible applicants will be contacted with assessment details if selected.

Challenge Course Description

The challenge process allows experienced members to demonstrate their existing manual Milling skills through a written and hands-on evaluation. Successfully passing the challenge satisfies the prerequisite requirement for the CNC Mill Course.


Skills Evaluated:

    • Mill Setup
    • Mill Operation
    • Tool Holding and Utilization
    • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation
    • Precision Measurement using Micrometers and Calipers
    Resumé Requirement
    All applicants must upload a current résumé that reflects their machining experience. This will be reviewed to verify eligibility for the challenge process.

    Note: This is not a course registration form. It is intended for those with prior machining experience who wish to test out of the Basic Mill Course.

    Assessments will be scheduled based on participant availability. Final testing dates and times will be confirmed by the Machinists Institute once the interest form is received and reviewed.
