Basic Virtual Reality Paint Course – Interest Form

This interest form is for IAM District 751 and W24 members who would like to enroll in the Basic Virtual Reality Paint Course offered by the Machinists Institute using AkzoNobel’s Aerofleet Training+ simulator.


Please note: Submitting this form does not guarantee placement. Registrants will be enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. If space becomes available, the Machinists Institute will contact you directly.

Course Description

This course introduces students to fundamental aerospace spray painting techniques in a fully immersive virtual reality environment. Participants will learn correct spray gun handling, pattern control, surface preparation basics, and troubleshooting — all without using real paint.

Basic Skills Covered:

  • Surface Prep Fundamentals

  • Spray Gun Positioning and Angles

  • Trigger Technique and Stroke Control

  • Virtual Booth Setup

  • Simulated Panel Painting

  • Quality Review and Scoring Metrics

Schedule and Location
Courses are offered in morning, evening, and Saturday formats to accommodate various work shifts. Final class times will be confirmed based on interest and availability.
