LOOK UK and Jamie's Farm Activity Week

Location: Jamie's Farm, Hereford

Date of the activity: 2pm Monday 27 – 11am Friday 31 July 2026.

We have 8 places available for this activity.

The total cost of this activity per person is £200.

This is calculated based on 25% of the total cost per person to the charity.

To secure your place a non-refundable 50% deposit of £100 is required by 4th May 2026, and the remaining balance of £100 by 15th June 2026.

Bursary places are available for participants in receipt of free school meals.

The ideal Jamie’s Farmer with LOOK is:

A visually impaired young person who is a current or previous member of the LOOK mentoring programme.

Aged 13 – 17 at the time of the activity.

Able to manage their personal care independently.

Has a good level of physical mobility i.e. able to manage long walks on uneven terrain, do not require the use of a wheelchair.

Does not present a danger to themselves or others.

Please note:

Guide and assistance dogs are permitted at Jamie’s Farm but require consideration in relation to other animals on site.

Personal electronic devices e.g. phones, tablets, smart watches are not permitted on site at Jamie’s Farm, except for devices required for health reasons.

A WhatsApp group will be created for parent/carers to receive updates and photos from LOOK staff during the activity.

Any food and drink brought in from off-site is not permitted at Jamie’s Farm.

Jamie’s Farm is a non-smoking site, including vaping.
Completion of this application form does not guarantee your place at the activity week.

All information collected in this form is stored confidentially and solely for the use of accommodating all possible needs of participants and to identify staffing needs. It is important that you read the questions carefully and answer as honestly as possible.

Please complete these details as/on behalf of the young person applying to attend the activity.

As part of this experience the Jamie’s Farm and LOOK team work together to create an individualised report for each young person following the residential.

This report will include information from the one to one sessions and support notes for working with the young people back at their school or institution.

This report is written to be shared with education professionals working with the young person, in order to maximise the support and development of each child.

Parent/carers receive a letter home detailing the young person's achievements and support notes from their time at the farm and a copy of the report sent to school.

The young people will also receive photo postcards detailing challenges the young people set themselves a few weeks after returning to school. These challenges will also be detailed on their support notes.

To support this process, we ask you for details of the young person's school/institution and an appointed person to receive the report, e.g. a SENCO, TA, QTVI, Head of Year. etc.

There will be opportunity to discuss this process in more detail, should the young person accept a place on the residential.
