CAP Hotline Volunteer Training: Housing and Consumer Law Primer

View the training online anytime. You will be emailed the training link within one (1) business day.

Open to volunteer lawyers, law students, and paralegals, this training will provide an overview of the housing and consumer issues facing low-income individuals and families in Maryland, the court processes they encounter related to evictions and affidavit judgment collection actions and an overview of the applicable law.  The training will prepare volunteers to assist hotline callers by providing guidance and referrals. The training will also equip volunteers with the knowledge and awareness they need to get the most out of courtroom observations.

Participants can attend/view the training free in exchange for their commitment to volunteer at one CAP Hotline shift within one year.
