Before you Apply
Thank you for taking the time to apply for Phase II of the 18 Inch Journey!  As an alumni of our school, you know what it feels like to be a student on this land. You've learned our values, engaged our rhythms, and submitted to our leadership.  Phase II is a different and deeper dive into these values and rhythms with our team.

In Phase II, we are looking for students who are eager for help and can acknowledge the places that they need leadership to speak in. To honor the level of intentional discipleship this school offers, it's important that each person comes ready to learn and humble to receive. Similarly to Phase I, you will walk closely with our leadership team, and you can expect them to champion your growth and speak into your blind spots. It is extremely important that you consider whether you are ready to reflect honestly on your own story, receive feedback and care from leaders, and practice vulnerability with others before submitting your application.

We are looking for students who have hunger and vision for their wholeness, long to grow closer to Jesus, and are committed to fighting for that vision during a season of serving. We're looking for students who are ready to show up in our rhythms of discipleship–from body care to reflective prayers, solitude and community, sessions and one-on-one’s, meal preparation and work blocks. Phase II requires a daily "yes" to this work, and a willingness to ask for help from God and others when you are hitting a wall.

We are asking for your vulnerability and honesty throughout this application. We value and take seriously this window into your life. We are not looking for students who have done things perfectly since Phase I–we acknowledge that walking out what you learned during your two month season can be messy, imperfect, and challenging.  We ask that you share truthfully and thoughtfully about where you are at and what you are looking to receive from a different season here.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Personal History

The following questions are very personal and require honest answers.  First and foremost, we believe that “there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," (Romans 8:1). We understand that we are all in various places on our journeys to wholeness and healing with the Lord.

As a discipleship school, it is vital for us to understand where you are in your journey with wholeness, so that we can discern how to best steward your story and lead you.  It is important that second year students of the 18 Inch Journey are walking in a growing level of freedom, vulnerability, and self-control when attending our schools.

In this section, please describe your history and current experience with the following.  If you do not have any personal history in the following areas, you may communicate that in your answers.  If we are the first person you are sharing this information with, please include that in your answer.
