Explanation and Purpose

Support Center is committed to prioritizing justice and equity and understanding and confronting long-standing practices of bias and exclusion, including addressing anti-Black racism. We are requesting that all of our clients answer the following demographic questions, which we will use to understand who we are serving and for funder reporting purposes. We welcome you to read our Strategic Plan here, which includes our mission, vision, values, strategic priorities and commitments to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

If you do not gather demographic information from your board and staff, Candid provides a helpful free Survey Template to help you get started. Demographic questions are now a part of Guidestar’s “Gold” level Transparency Seal, which you can learn more about here. We would also welcome you to take advantage of our free office hours to discuss further.

Our Definition of BIPOC-led

Support Center defines Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) led as the following: the organization’s CEO, Executive Director, or Co-Directors identify as BIPOC and the majority of board officers identify as BIPOC and/or the majority of senior leadership identifies as BIPOC.
