Youth After-School
Program Volunteers at Steve O’Neil Apartments
Are you looking for a rewarding position working with youth? If so, we are
looking for YOU! Steve O’Neil Apartments is looking for volunteers for their
after-school youth program. We work with families transitioning from
homelessness to stabilization in our permanent housing. The goal of our
after-school program is to provide a safe and structured space that promotes
learning through play to build competency in social-emotional learning, life
skills, and academics while creating family and community connections. Our
program runs Monday - Thursday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. The after-school program
works with 5-25 youth ages 6-17 who live in the building.
In this position, you would be responsible for building relationships with the
youth in our program by doing activities together, such as crafts, playing
games, and reading, etc. Ideally, you would volunteer on a regular schedule to
build those relationships (helping one time or more per week for an hour or
more). You will be supervised and coached by the Youth Development Coordinator
along with other staff.
To apply, please visit our website. Once we
receive the application, it will be reviewed by the Youth Development
Coordinator, who will contact you to set up a meeting to talk about the
position. If you are offered the volunteer position and accept, a background check
will be done.
We look forward to meeting you and thank you for
considering working with the youth at Steve O’Neil Apartments!"
