Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Wise Readers to Leaders for the 2025-2026 school year! Below you will find a description of our remote programs and volunteer opportunities:

Remote Reading:  a near-peer mentorship program in which teen or college volunteers will be paired with a K-8th grade scholar and meet independently for 30-45 minutes of tutoring each week. Tutors can help scholars navigate difficult vocabulary, check in on comprehension, talk about themes, and more!

Remote Math Tutoring:  a near-peer mentorship program in which teen or college volunteers will be paired with a K-8th grade scholar and meet independently for 30-45 minutes of tutoring each week. Tutors can help scholars with their homework, work on practice problems, play math games, and more!

These programs run from September 2025 through May 2026, taking off Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks. Volunteers must be able to consistently volunteer for 30-45 minutes per week for the entire duration of this program. These meeting times would be determined between you and your scholar family.

All tutors are required to attend a mandatory training session for the subject(s) they apply for. The Program and Administration Coordinator, Daniela Lopez, will email you with more information.

*Training information and tracking form will be sent after signature page from Policy Packet is received*
