Team4Tech invites education nonprofits to join our Experience AI cohort! This free, structured learning program will support nonprofit staff and/or individual teachers in understanding and implementing Experience AI lessons with their teachers and learners. Experience AI is an educational program developed by Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind, that offers cutting-edge resources on artificial intelligence and machine learning for teachers and students aged 11–14. During the 3-month course, participants will have access to live virtual sessions, self-paced learning materials, resources, and coaching to develop the skills necessary to implement Experience AI within their learning community. Participants will learn the foundations of AI and develop the confidence to deliver hands-on AI learning experiences with their teacher and learner community. Through this cohort, participants will:
- Explore how AI is used in the world today
- Understand how computers learn from data using machine learning
- Discover how a limited data set can lead to bias
- Train and test a machine learning model to solve a real-world problem
- Develop strategies to distinguish facts from false information in the age of AI
- Learn about AI-related careers
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Experience AI lessons through asynchronous modules as well as deepen and discuss their learnings through live sessions with Team4Tech facilitation and other participating nonprofits/teachers.
Participating nonprofits are expected to:
- Nominate 2-4 staff members who can dedicate approximately 15-20 total hours over 3 months.
- Engage with asynchronous learning materials, including working on assignments.
- Attend six live virtual sessions for peer learning, sharing, and feedback.
- Complete pre- and post-cohort survey, and follow-up survey 4-6 months after participation to track lesson implementation.
Participating NGOs will receive a participation stipend that can be used to support their implementation upon successful completion of the course requirements.
