Alfanar Investment Application

Alfanar fosters the growth of ambitious, enterprising, self-reliant social enterprises (SE) that provide valued opportunities for disadvantaged people in the Arab world to improve their lives and experience dignity. Alfanar employs a venture philanthropy investment approach, which helps social enterprises scale their impact and achieve financial independence over time.

Alfanar, with the support of the Regional Development and Protection Program Jordan and Lebanon (RDPP III), is launching the ASPIRE-VP project, Addressing Social Development and Protection In the Region through Venture Philanthropy.

Alfanar is launching SEED Cycles as part of the ASPIRE-VP programme, which focus on increasing employment, creating decent jobs, and improving livelihoods for vulnerable communities in Lebanon and Jordan. By supporting locally led social enterprises (SEs), the programme aims to drive systemic change, foster sustainable solutions, and empower marginalized groups, including women, youth, migrants, and refugees. ASPIRE-VP is committed to scaling impactful SEs that align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), through targeted financial and technical support.

10 SEs will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria – described below – and will be selected to join a cohort of up to 5 SEs per country with a grant of up to $20k, training on 5 strategic modules followed by customised 1-2-1 management support sessions to customise models for the enterprise, covering business, financial, impact and governance models over a period of 6 months.

We are looking for social enterprises that want to grow their team to scale their financial sustainability and impact.
