Emerging Leaders Fellowship - Application

Thank you for your interest in The Mind Trust's Emerging Leaders Fellowship. The Emerging Leaders Fellowship provides talented educators with the tools, resources, and coaching to level up their impact and become the next generation of leaders in Indianapolis schools. To be eligible for the Fellowship, candidates must be working in an Indianapolis charter or innovation network school and commit to staying at their school for three years while participating in the fellowship.

The Full Application will ask you to reflect on your leadership practice and share evidence of your impact specifically around driving student outcomes, expanding access, fostering belonging, and leading adults effectively. You will submit a combination of written responses, video responses through SparkHire, and supplemental artifacts that demonstrate your growth, experience, and readiness for the Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

Section 2: Open Ended Questions

In addition to the written application, candidates will complete a video interview via SparkHire. This portion of the process enables the selection committee to gain a deeper understanding of your communication style, leadership presence, and alignment with the Fellowship’s vision.

2.1: Leadership Experience (Sparkhire Questions)

A. Share one personal or professional value that guides your leadership. Why is it important to you, and how does it show up in the way you lead and build relationships with others? B. Why are you interested in the Emerging Leaders Fellowship? What makes this the right next step for you, and what will you bring to the cohort that no one else will?

2.2: Impact & Outcomes (Written 250 Word Response)

A. In your current school, how do you ensure that every student and every adult has access to the support, clarity, and opportunities they need to be successful? Describe one example where you recognized an imbalance or barrier and took action to improve the experience or outcome for a specific group.

B. Describe a time when you were responsible for achieving a specific result through others. What systems, routines, or approaches did you use to ensure progress? What did you learn about your leadership from this experience?

C. Describe a time you worked with or led people who held different perspectives than your own. How did you build trust, alignment, or momentum across those differences?
