We are delighted to invite you to apply to a course in the Global Institute. Each course seeks to bring diverse cohorts together to learn from and with each other about what it takes to transform classrooms, schools, and systems to shape a better future. These collective learning experiences are aimed to advance our understanding of what it takes to grow students as leaders of a more just, equitable, and  sustainable future.

Cohort Selection Prioroties:
1. Diversity: To foster a dynamic learning environment we aim to select a diverse group of leaders from various sectors and geographic locations, within and beyond education.

2. Commitment: Applicants should commit to 15-17 hours over 8 weeks to:
     <7.5 hrs> Attend all zoom sessions 
     <6-8 hrs> Develop and execute your project, outlining the project plan and identifying the resources required for implementation.
    <2 hrs> Craft and share your story
3. Connection: We seek participants who understand the strength of their communities and can clearly articulate the challenges they face." 

Description
This two-month course is designed for educators and student-facing professionals who are committed to helping young people explore their aspirations, build essential skills, and prepare to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Grounded in the Career Readiness Education Framework, the course focuses on building student leadership, connecting learning to real-world opportunities, and designing experiences that foster purpose, skills, and confidence.

Participants will explore the framework’s core principles through an immersive learning journey—drawing insights from peers, students, corporate leaders, and experts. They will design and implement a career education activity with their students, applying practical tools to assess impact and ensure relevance to their local context.

Course Objectives
Throughout the course, participants will:
  1. Deepen Understanding of Career Education: Explore and reflect on the broader role of high-quality, inclusive career education in fostering student leadership and career readiness, grounded in the Career Readiness Education Framework.
  2. Design and Implement an Action Project: Gain practical tools and skills to design, implement, and evaluate a career education activity with students, while developing teaching materials that support key competencies and future career navigation.
  3. Strengthen Professional Networks and Partnerships: Learn to build and sustain connections with communities and industries, and engage with a global network of educators and professionals to exchange best practices and expand students' exposure to diverse career pathways.

These criteria ensure that selected participants are well-suited for the course and ready to maximize their participation and impact.
  1. Current Role and Experience Applicants must be actively involved in K-12 Career Education. Priority will be given to those who demonstrate a commitment to designing and implementing career education activities.
  2. Capacity for Engagement Applicants must be able to dedicate 15-17 hours over two months, including full participation in all six sessions, project development and implementation, and crafting their stories.
  3. Commitment to Innovation and Leadership based on the Career Readiness Education Framework Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to transforming their teaching practices through innovative Career Education approaches. This includes:
  4. A clear intention to integrate leadership development alongside future career readiness into their activities, and
  5. Readiness to develop a project, activity plan, and accompanying resources, with a commitment to implementing the project with their students during the course.
  6. Language Proficiency - applicants can apply if they are proficient in either English or Spanish.
