2026 JABC Junior Entrepreneur Award - $2,500

Award Description

The Junior Entrepreneur Award recognizes youth who have demonstrated outstanding business acumen, growth, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit while participating in JA Company Program, JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners, or Discover Your Pitch.


This year, up to four participants will be awarded $2,500 each to support their diverse educational or other needs. Participants must be nominated by their JA Company Program mentor(s) or host teacher(s). Award recipients will participate in a live panel interview about their experience at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremonies to be held on June 8, 2026, in Vancouver. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, the nominee must:
  • Have participated in JA Company Program, JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners, or Discover Your Pitch during the 2025-26 school year
  • Reside in B.C.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have not received this award previously
Requirements

Students must be nominated by their JABC Mentor or Teacher to be eligible for this award.
  • Complete this online application
  • Submit a 90-second video
  • Submit a transcript of your speech
  • Submit a personal statement (up to 500 words) describing your entrepreneurial experience in the JA Company Program, JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners, or Discover Your Pitch
  • Complete the Media Consent Form
If selected, award recipients will be expected to commit to the following activities:
  • Participate in a live panel interview about their experience at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremonies to be held on June 8, 2026, in Vancouver. 
  • Provide a headshot and brief biography (100 words max.) outlining your educational background and involvement with JA.
