Pollinator Pathways Program

Casey Trees, in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, is installing free trees and native plant gardens for DC homeowners within specific urban wildlife corridors around the Anacostia River, and east of Rock Creek Park. These native trees and plants will help pollinators like butterflies and birds navigate our city while they travel between larger parks and natural areas.

If your yard has open space to plant and is eligible, it could become a vital link in DC's pollinator corridors. Visit our main page to learn more about the program and eligibility requirements: caseytrees.org/pathways

Complete the application below to schedule a site visit and consultation.
Check Eligibility
The Pollinator Pathways program is only available for certain addresses and areas in Washington, DC. These addresses have been carefully selected as wildlife corridors through our urban environment.

Check our eligibility map or enter your address below to see if your address is eligible.

If your address appears in the list here, it is eligible for the Pollinator Pathways program.
If your address is not eligible, you can still beautify your yard and make an impact! Casey Trees provides free trees to all DC residents, and installs ecological gardens at competitive rates in DC, MD, and VA.

Planting Information

Enter the number only. Garden areas of at least 100 sq feet are prioritized.

Native gardens and trees need to be watered regularly to establish and thrive. Without easy access to water, your address is not an ideal candidate for this free program.

We cannot plant in the right-of-way (i.e. the area between the sidewalk and street).

This will help us in the planning process before a site visit.

After submitting this form, a Casey Trees representative will review your application to confirm your yard is eligible and will reach out to let you know whether your yard has been accepted into the program. Please allow 2-3 weeks before following up on your submission. Thank you.

Note that although your consultation may occur this season, your planting may not occur until the following planting season. For example, if you are applying in spring, your consult may occur in spring, but your planting may not occur until the fall.

A copy of your response will be sent to the email you provided. If you have any questions about your request, please email friends@caseytrees.org
