First Year Scholarship Application

Hello Incoming First Year!


With all the exciting things coming to you regarding your first year at RampU, we wanted to give you an easy chance to apply for something everyone is curious about... Scholarships & Grants! Please make sure to read this section in it's entirety!

Before we get into the logistics of all of them, here are the two most important things regarding these scholarships and grants. Before applying for or receiving any scholarships grants, you must pay your $100 confirmation fee.

All Scholarships that require an essay must be submitted in proper MLA format via an attached document. Anything submitted that is not in proper MLA and in a file (doc., docx., or PDF) 
will be disqualified from consideration.

Some competitive scholarships are due before June 1st. This will be noted on the application. 

90 Day Policy: Please read in its entirety
- From the date of paying your acceptance fee, you will have 90 days to submit this scholarship application. Anything after that will not be considered. Please note that regardless of this policy, the hard deadline for all Scholarships & Grants is June 1st. 


This form will be where you will submit ALL Scholarships & Grants information. Please know that you will need to complete it in its entirety if you desire to be considered for any of them. Each applicant is only able to submit one scholarship application. 

** Please note that if you are accepted after June 1st, you are not eligible for the competitive scholarships.

Scholarships

*The Early Bird Scholarship:
Amount: $1,000
Word Count: 500
Format: Proper MLA (DOC. or DOCX)
Condition: The Early Bird Scholarship is an opportunity available only to those accepted applicants that are confirmed by Feb. 1st of the enrollment year. 
Prompt: What does it mean to be a successful person and how do you believe that is accomplished?
Deadline: March 31st 
Merit-Based Scholarship: Our Merit-Based scholarships are awarded based on a student's most recent cumulative GPA, whether that be high school or college. A student will also need to show that they have taken the ACT or SAT. Any score on these standardized tests will make a student eligible to receive a Merit-Based award.
Tier 1: $200 - GPA: 3.4-3.6
Tier 2: $400 - GPA: 3.7-3.9 
Tier 3: $600 - GPA: 4.0 and above


*Leadership Scholarships
Amount: $1,000
Word Count: 1,000
Format: Proper MLA (DOC. or DOCX)
Leadership is developed in every season, and these scholarships allow for incoming applicants to share about their marking leadership experiences.
Conditions
- Official high school transcript or college transcript (if applicable) 
Prompt: 1,000 word essay on how you have demonstrated leadership in your life. 
Additional Requirement: Letter of recommendation (from someone who has known you for a minimum of two years, is at least 25 years old, and is a non-family member)

Church Match Scholarship
Amount: Up to $250

RampU will match any support given by a student's church - up to $250. This must be sent by check from the supporting organization and made out to Ramp University. 

*Dallen Ansley Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $500
Number Being Rewarded: 1
Awarded towards tuition for a student 40 years and up. Dallen Ansley was a student in our inaugural year of what was then known as the Ramp School of Ministry and later became the Student Life Pastor. Dallen answered the call from God to do ministry school later in life, and his passionate love for God and people deeply impacted every person he met. Dallen went to be with the Lord in May 2017, and this scholarship is awarded in his memory.
Partner's Scholarship: $250
- You must provide proof of being of you or your parents being partners for the past six months. To submit, you will need the name of the people the partnership is under and what phone number is on the account. 

Church Match Scholarship: $350
- The church must submit a check made out to The Ramp before July 12. 
Grants
RU offers stackable grants with other scholarships available to First and Second Year students. A student can receive a maximum of one institutional grant in addition to other scholarships.

FAMILY GRANT ($250)
This grant is applicable to students who are attending RampU with a sibling, parent/child, or a spouse. Each sibling, parent/child. or spouse qualifies for a $250 grant. 

MINISTER’S GRANT ($250)
This grant is applicable to students who (themselves or their parents) are involved in church leadership in a ministerial role.  This must be a W2, full-time paid position within the church. 

VETERANS GRANT ($250)
This grant is applicable to students who (themselves or their parents) are serving, or have served, in the armed forces.
To be eligible, students must provide a copy of their DD214 form or a Veteran’s card.
