The ILDS Young Dermatologist International Achievement (YDIA) Award is awarded bienially to coincide with the World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) and the ILDS World Skin Summit (WSS).

The YDIA Award provides an opportunity for ILDS Members to recognise recently qualified dermatologists who have made an outstanding contribution to international dermatology, particularly for patients in under-served areas of the world.

We are thrilled to open the nomination process for the YDIA Awards 2027 which will provide recipients with a bursary to attend the 26th World Congress of Dermatology in June 2027 in Guadalajara, Mexico. One recipient is chosen from each of the six ILDS regions:

Africa
East Asia, South-East Asia and Oceania
Europe
Latin America (including Mexico and the Caribbean)
North America (excluding Mexico and the Caribbean)
West, South and Central Asia

As a valued ILDS Member, you may nominate one dermatologist from your Society who meets the following criteria:

They have been practising dermatology, post-training, for less than 15 years
They do not hold the rank of Professor at any academic institution
They have not previously received an ILDS YDIA Award or be a current or past ILDS Board Member (including Observer and Associate).

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that the nominee is aware of the nomination as, if they are successful, we will make contact with them to obtain additional details.
