2026 Farmer Veteran Coalition Stakeholders Conference: Request for Speakers

The Farmer Veteran Stakeholders Conference is the largest national annual gathering of the agriculture and military communities and features three days of education, distinguished speakers, guest panels, networking, a farm tour, camaraderie, and much more.

Each year, Farmer Veterans from across the country - representing every branch of service and all eras of military service - travel to the host city to connect, learn, and grow. Attendees span a wide range of agricultural enterprises and experience levels, from those just beginning their farming journey to seasoned producers.

The 2026 conference theme, Scaling Sustainably: Practical Innovation for Small & Mid-Sized Veteran Farms, will focus on actionable strategies and forward-thinking solutions to help Farmer Veterans expand responsibly and profitably. The conference will be held on October 25-27, 2026, in Virginia. Additional details will be announced soon.

Track 1- Practical Technology for Real Farms Right-sized innovation for small and mid-sized operations. Examples: low-cost sensors and drones, digital tools for record-keeping, marketing, and crop planning, affordable labor-saving tools, cybersecurity and data protection for small producers. Track 2- Climate & Water Resilience for Small Acreage Identifying Tackling drought, extreme weather, and long-term sustainability. Examples: irrigation upgrades that pay off, drought-resilient crops and rotations, soil health strategies for weather-proof farming, funding opportunities for water conservation infrastructure. Track 3- Regenerative Agriculture & Land Stewardship Techniques that build soil, increase profitability, and improve ecological outcomes. Examples: cover cropping on a budget, no-till and minimum-till for small farms, integrating livestock into regenerative systems, carbon markets: what's real for small producers?Track 4- Farm Business Viability & Market Growth Helping veteran farmers succeed through entrepreneurship and smart planning. Examples: building profitable niche enterprises, selling locally, understanding input costs and margin management, grants, loans, and financing for veterans. Track 5- Mental Health, Community, and the Next Generation The human side of farm success. Examples: peer mentorship for veteran farmers, mental health and stress management in ag, family farming and succession planning, women veteran producers: leadership equity, and opportunity. Track 6- Policy, Partnerships, & the 2026 Landscape Connecting veteran farmers to national, state, and corporate partners. Examples: 2024 Farm Bill updates and what veterans need to know, conservation and water programs that support small acreage, retail partnerships for veteran-owned brands, state-level programs supporting beginning farmers
