As divers we see what plastic pollution is doing to the ocean before anyone else. For over a decade, through Dive Against Debris, PADI AWARE divers have been counting and removing what shouldn’t be there. Millions of pieces, logged by divers across the globe. It’s the largest underwater record of plastic pollution in the world and PADI AWARE uses this data to press Treaty decision-makers to take action on behalf of the global diving community and the reefs we love.

Four years of UN talks. Still no Treaty.

Governments need to stop stalling, agree to the text, and get a Treaty approved. We need a Treaty that cuts plastic pollution at its source and crucially also backs the clean-up of what’s already there.
