The MPSA invites faculty members, PhDs, and non-academic professionals to serve as volunteer mentors during the MPSA Mentoring Reception. Mentors will guide casual conversations with a small group of no more than four mentees to discuss current research and professional aspirations. The Mentoring Reception will be held during the MPSA Annual Conference on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, IL.
By submitting the following application, you agree to serve as a mentor during the MPSA Mentoring Reception at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. You must be registered for the conference as an in-person attendee in order to participate. Please note, this is for in-person participation only; there will not be a virtual option to participate.
Short biographical sketches of this year's mentors will be posted on the MPSA website in mid-March. Potential mentees will be encouraged to sign up online for specific mentors as availability exists. Notifications containing mentee name(s), contact information, and mentee questions/conversation topics will be provided to mentors in April. Shortly after, each participant will receive a message of introduction to others participating in the small group mentoring session. There will be no on-site signups for this event, so you will have plenty of time to review the information for those in your group prior to the event.
