The Jack Miller Center invites nominations for
The Revolutionary Legacies First Book Prize, which honors the most distinguished first book by a new author that significantly enhances our understanding of the American Revolution, the Founding Era, and their enduring legacies. Eligible works may address any aspect of this broadly defined period, spanning from approximately 1754 to 1826. This annual prize will be awarded to the best first monograph published in calendar year 2024 or 2025.
The recipient will receive $3,000, and the award will be presented on
October 11th, 2026, at the Jack Miller Center and American Revolution Institute’s conference, “The American Revolution and Its Legacies: Independence and a Candid World.”
If you would like to nominate a book for the Revolutionary Legacies First Book Prize, please complete this form by April 17th, 2026. Once we receive your nomination, we will follow up with shipping instructions. All books must be shipped by April 30th, 2026. Please note that the Jack Miller Center is not responsible for delayed, lost, or incomplete shipments.
