The Work Force Youth Program - 2026 Summer College Immersion Program

The Work Force Summer College Immersion Program is a six-week PAID summer experience designed to help rising high school seniors (current juniors) prepare successfully for their senior year and the college admissions process.

JOIN US THIS SUMMER! 
  • Take personalized college prep classes with an emphasis on SAT content 
  • Complete a polished college application essay through individualized support 
  • Enjoy day trips to explore colleges throughout New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc.) based on student preferences.
  • Participate in fun college exploratory activities to help you create a list of your safety, reach, and match schools.
  • Get a head start on your senior year!
  • GET PAID $15/hour for 20 hours a week for a total of $1,800 through the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
  • Get invaluable guidance and support to help you define your post-secondary path.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: 

  • Open to all Cambridge rising high school seniors (current juniors). Preference given to Cambridge Housing Authority residents. 
  • Eligible applicants must be highly motivated and committed to increasing their academic and college-readiness skills and exploring colleges.  

DATES and LOCATION:

  • Mondays -Thursdays from July 6 through August 13, 2026
  • Hours: 11:00 - 3:30pm M-W, and 8-5 on Thursdays
  • Location: 308 Rindge Ave. Cambridge

Steps to apply:
  1. Complete sections of the enclosed application.
  2. You will receive an email with a link for a recommendation that must be sent to a current or former ELA teacher ASAP.
  3. Have your most recent ELA teacher complete the evaluation in order for your application to be considered complete.
  4. Sign up for Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (April 15th - May 8th)

This program will only accept 20 students and limited spots are remaining. Applicants are selected on a rolling basis.
