Sustainable Compassion in Challenging Times: Contemplative Training Retreat for Christian Activists, Ministers, and Peace & Justice Makers

This contemplative training intensive is for Christians of all backgrounds who are on the frontlines of seeking justice and providing care for vulnerable peoples and communities during this difficult time.

Drawing on Christian and Buddhist meditation traditions, the retreat will introduce participants to specific practices focused on establishing a safe connection with one’s body, accessing the reservoir of unlimited compassion in God in the midst of challenges, and mindfully processing challenging experiences, feelings, and thoughts in ways that lead to healing and greater sense of inner freedom.

The aim of the retreat is to provide participants with concrete teachings and practices that will help sustain and empower them in their work of love and justice over the long term.

Co-hosted by Episcopal City Mission and St. Paul’s Brookline, the sessions will be facilitated by Won-Jae Hur, an Episcopal priest with training and study in Christian and Buddhist contemplative traditions.

The Location will be St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookline,
