Honoring Barney Scout Mann and Sandy “Frodo” Mann


In March, the Pacific Crest Trail Association presented the 2026 Luminary Award to Barney Scout Mann and Sandy 'Frodo' Mann in recognition of their decades of service to the Pacific Crest Trail community.


We created a commemorative memory book filled with stories and photos shared by members of the trail community. We know there are many more memories to gather.

We invite you to share your story of how Barney and Sandy enhanced your connection to the PCT and long-distance trails.


Selected submissions will be shared with the Mann family and may be featured in future PCTA communications. By submitting, you grant PCTA permission to review and potentially publish your content with credit.
