John F. Wood Summer Leadership Program (SLP)

The John F. Wood Summer Leadership Program (SLP) is a multi-day, overnight experience for high school students who want to build leadership skills, explore new ideas, and experience life at Ivey Business School and Western University. Leaders today must be adaptable, collaborative, and ready to take on complex challenges in areas like sustainability, technology, and the future of work. This program is designed to help students build the mindset and skills needed to thrive in a changing world.

From August 3–7, this immersive program offers case-based learning, interactive workshops, and team-based problem-solving. You’ll connect with like-minded peers, stay in residence, and collaborate on a capstone project presented to industry experts. Ready to take the next step in your leadership journey?

Leadership, Impact, and Involvement
SLP is designed to help students build confidence, think critically, and understand the impact leaders can have on their communities and the world around them. Tell us about a leadership or extracurricular experience where you made a meaningful contribution. What role did you play, how did you collaborate with others, and what impact did your actions have on someone or something outside of yourself? (Maximum 500 words)

Statement of Interest
Throughout SLP, students learn through case based discussions, hands-on workshops, team challenges, and an entrepreneurial capstone project developed in partnership with Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship. Why are you interested in participating in SLP? What aspects of the program excite you most, and how do you hope to apply the skills and experiences you gain to your future goals, community involvement, or personal growth? (Maximum 500 words)

Financial Assistance

A limited amount of financial assistance is available to help reduce the $450 program fee for students who may face financial barriers. Assistance does not cover travel to and from the program.

Completing this section is optional and will not affect the review of your overall application. Students who are approved for financial assistance will be notified at the same time as their program admission decision.

Because funding is limited, we encourage only students who require support to complete this portion of the application.
