Resilience in Action emergency planning training teaches individuals and organisations how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies or major incidents. It focuses on building resilience so that services and communities can continue operating during crises.
Key points typically covered include:

Risk awareness: Identifying potential threats such as natural disasters, accidents, cyber incidents, or public health emergencies.

Emergency planning: Creating clear plans that outline roles, responsibilities, and procedures during an incident.

Communication: Ensuring effective information sharing between teams, emergency services, and the public.

Coordination and teamwork: Practising how different departments and agencies work together in a crisis.

Response and recovery: Managing the immediate response while planning how to restore normal operations afterward.

Practical scenarios: Using exercises or simulations to apply plans and improve decision-making under pressure.
Overall goal: Strengthen readiness and ensure people and organisations can respond quickly, reduce harm, and recover effectively when emergencies occur.
This in-person session can be delivered to your organisation and to any public groups you currently hold (e.g., lunch clubs, support groups, social events).
Course duration: Flexible to meet the needs of your groups, e.g. a 30 minute discussion alongside one of your existing meetings, or a standalone 45 minutes session. We can adapt the content and focus depending on your needs.
