Building a truly resilient, just, and democratic food system requires sustained investment in policy advocacy and movement building. We challenge all SAFSF members to respond to this call to action by initiating or expanding your funding for nonpartisan policy advocacy and movement building in 2026 and beyond.

We recognize that many SAFSF members, even those who have already made this commitment, operate under internal protocols that limit what your organization may share publicly in light of the current political environment. For this reason, we welcome SAFSF members to accept this challenge and join in one of three ways. You can either
- Share your organization’s name publicly
- Share your organization’s name in the SAFSF member portal (member access only), or
- Join the challenge anonymously with SAFSF staff visibility only.
Joining the challenge will inspire other funders to take courageous action. We intend to share about progress made on this challenge, so to help us understand your progress, we will reach out at the end of the year to learn how your organization supported policy advocacy and movement-building efforts in 2026. This information will be shared in aggregate with SAFSF members, and your name will be kept at the level of confidentiality you select (public, member only, or staff only).
