Overview:
Join the effort to support the development of a wildlife and human crossing at US Highway 50 at Spooner Summit. This stretch of highway has seen high numbers of wildlife fatalities due to dangerous crossings. By collecting on-the-ground data, your work will directly contribute to determining the safest and most effective location for a crossing that benefits both people and wildlife. This is a family friendly event.
Volunteers will:
-
Attend a virtual training and workshop on wildlife tracking and data collection
-
Participate in four field data collection days throughout the year
-
Help survey wildlife movement and trail use patterns
