Kids for Peace 2026-2027 Internship Application Form

     Kids for Peace
Thank you for applying to be a Kids for Peace Intern! This program is open to Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at any high school in Carlsbad or surrounding areas. 

As an intern, you will have dynamic hands-on experiences, 
earn community service hours, make a positive impact on your community and get a behind-the-scenes look into what it takes to run a non-profit organization. 

Expectations & Required Commitments:
Interns are expected to:
  1. Attend at least 5 of the 11 monthly meetings throughout the year (dates listed below)
  2. Help prepare for, set up and/or run our 2nd annual PEACEFEST on 5/8/27
  3. Attend at least 3 Kids for Peace events/activities outside of meetings and PEACEFEST
    Examples of hands-on experiences/opportunities include:
    • Helping to prepare for the annual Great Kindness Challenge
    • Supporting local elementary and middle school Kids for Peace chapter activities and/or starting your own chapter at your school
    • Representing Kids for Peace at community events
    • Speaking at Kindness Certified Company events
    • Working with local businesses, non-profits, youth bands and other volunteers at PEACEFEST - our music arts and service festival on 5/8/27
    • Creating promotional materials (e.g. making posters, flyers and videos)

    INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT
    As a Kids for Peace Intern:
    • I understand that I am expected to make as many internship meetings as possible with a minimum of 5 out of the 11 scheduled meetings.
    • I understand that I am expected to help organize, set up and/or run the 2nd annual PEACEFEST (music arts and service festival) scheduled for 5/8/27; if I am employed at that time, I will kindly request 5/8/27 off so that I may participate.
    • I understand that I am expected to attend at least 3 Kids for Peace events/activities outside of the meetings and PEACEFEST.
    • I understand that my level of engagement in this internship will determine the experience I get out of it.
    • I understand this is an application for a volunteer position with Kids for Peace for which there is no monetary compensation.
    • I understand that this internship is a 1 year commitment, meeting monthly for an hour and a half on the Sage Creek High School campus.
    • I understand that if I am unable to attend a meeting, it is my responsibility to email info@kidsforpeaceglobal.org to let the Kids for Peace team know.
    • I certify that all information provided on this application is true and complete. 
    • I understand that I will be placed on the Kids for Peace Internship email distribution list and text thread.
    • I understand that I will be eligible to participate in this internship every year I am in high school, but will need to re-apply every year.
